About Me

I’m passionate about building WordPress websites for startup companies.

This is the story of how I transitioned from University into the labour force. I’ll talk about how I majored in Economics at York University and ended up working with small businesses to help digitize their operations.

I decided to pursue economics because growing up, I was keenly interested in the factors affecting my province’s and country’s GDP. My goal was to work for the Government of Ontario as an economic forecaster, to assess the situation of our economy and be able to make data-driven suggestions on how we could lower the unemployment rate and stimulate business growth.

Once the pandemic hit, my passion grew stronger for helping the business sector grow in a struggling economy. As an entrepreneur myself, I understood the need for adopting e-commerce, as the main method of selling goods/services. I landed my first professional role with Digital Main Street as an E-commerce Coordinator. My job was to meet with business owners and develop an e-commerce site using Shopify or Square. Along with acquiring professional experience, I also ran a dropshipping and affiliate marketing website, using Shopify and WordPress, while leveraging various marketing channels to promote my brands. Once my contract ended as an E-commerce Coordinator, Digital Main Street hired me as a Digital Marketer. Soon after that contract was up, I was hired by the City of Mississauga as a DSS Team Member. During this period, I would spend my time after work familiarizing myself with new digital tools and gaining certifications in digital marketing. Not only did this help me professionally, but I was also able to grow entrepreneurially. Then in March 2022, immediately after my contract with the City of Mississauga was up, I managed to land a job with WithYouWithMe, and got contracted out to the RCMP to work as a UX Analyst. This was a significant jump in my career, and I was very excited to work for the Federal Government. Three months later, I realized that my fiery ambition to grow and improve day in and day out wasn’t there. The reason was that I needed to work with tools such as WordPress and other digital marketing software, which is where my passion was. I ended up resigning and got hired by the Business Centre Guelph-Wellington shortly after as the Lead Digital Advisor.

In a nutshell, my passion lies in helping businesses thrive online, and that’s why I continue to grow and improve in that respect daily!
