Once we’ve established the foundation for our work, we proceed with creating a posting schedule, with content pillars in place to guide what we talk about.

As a PPC marketer, I put heavy emphasis on perfecting the landing page, and most of all the offering itself. This could be said about any marketing channel, but PPC can prove to be quite expensive, especially if you’re not getting results.

As a content writer, although it’s important to factor in SEO when creating a landing page, quality must not be compromised. Before I begin writing, I must answer these questions: Why am I writing? Who am I writing for? What should I write? How should I present it, and then factor in SEO afterwards. At the end of the day, we’re trying to increase conversions, and ranking high on Google only helps to get the page in front of the reader.

Email Marketing

Email marketing has proven to have the highest ROI compared to all other marketing channels. That’s because of the ability to tag and segment audience members, and to A/B test. I make it a point to keep a high-quality list. I go as far as to prompt the future subscriber to select which emails they want to receive from us, and then double-opt in. That way, our analytics aren’t skewed, and we can confidentally use them to make data-driven decisions.

Google Analytics

A decision can’t be deemed viable if you don’t have the data to back it up. As a web analyst, I’m able to identify issues with a landing page or marketing channel based on what the data tells us. The main metrics I look at when working with clients are bounce rate, and conversion rate. If the bounce rates are high, I need to analyze the landing page, and if conversion rates are low, I question whether or not there’s an abandoned cart email sequence in place.
